INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Print the pattern onto the paper of your choice.

Read the pattern key included in the General Instructions.

 

Step 2

Cut out the ten parts by cutting on all black lines including the black lines along each of the two Glue Flap A’s and two Glue Flap B’s.

STEP 3

On all ten parts, fold the green lines as valley folds.  Next glue each Glue Flap A and Glue Flap B to the back of the adjacent triangle.

Step 4

Connect five parts together in a ring with the points all meeting at the center of the ring.  Connect each part to its neighbors with three glue flaps on each side.

Step 5

Connect a new part in each of the five triangular gaps in the project using three glue flaps on each side of each new part.

Step 6

Complete your Neptune by connecting together the five parts added in Step 5, using three glue flaps on each side of each part.

This geodesic globe is based on an icosahedron with N = 3. It has 180 triangular faces.
