INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Print the Viajera pattern onto two matching paper sheets of your choice. Both sides of the paper will be visible in this project.

Read the pattern key included in the General Instructions.

General Instructions

Step 2

Cut out the 24 parts by cutting on all black lines.

STEP 3

On each of the 24 parts, fold the red lines as mountain folds and glue the flap to the patch.

Step 4

Connect each Part 1 to a Part 2 by gluing the A-labelled rectangles back-to-back.

Step 5

Connect three pairs of parts together into a triangle by gluing C-labelled quadrilateral faces back-to-back. The center of the constructed module should now be a hexagonal funnel. Make three additional similar modules so that there are four total.

Step 6

Connect two of the modules from Step 5 together by gluing two B-labelled faces on each module back-to-back.

Step 7

Add the third module to the project by gluing two B-labelled faces back-to-back with each of the two modules on the project after Step 6. Add the fourth module to the project by gluing two B-labelled faces back-to-back with each of the three modules already on the project.

This Viajera space probe is in the form of a truncated triakis tetrahedron where each of the hexagon funnels are located at one of the truncated points.
